Kara Mulligan obtained her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences at Benedictine University and her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Chatham University. She also holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Psychiatry.

Kara joined Conventions Psychiatry & Counseling in 2014.

She is well-respected by her patients and other providers. Her patients appreciate her up-to-the-minute expertise in psychopharmacology and her attentiveness to their concerns. She also serves as the Chief of Medical Staff for the practice and orients all new Advanced Practice Providers.

Kara has special interests in pediatric and adolescent mental health and has experience with all mental health diagnoses. Her areas of expertise include ADHD, Major Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, and Substance Use Disorders.

Kara was born and raised in Wheaton, IL. In her free time, Kara enjoys traveling and gardening. Her favorite quote is, “Be at peace, take heart, and be strong.”
