Dan Novak earned a Master’s of Science in Clinical Psychology in 2019 and a Bachelor’s in Psychology in 2016 from Benedictine University in Lisle, IL, and a Bachelor’s in Marketing from SIU-C in 1994. Since 2018, Dan’s therapeutic approach is client-centered and embraces empathy, vulnerability, warmth, and genuine kindness without judgment. He believes every person has a unique story that deserves to be heard. Joining Conventions in 2022, his personal interests are in treating addiction, general mental health, men’s mental health issues, adults/adolescents with intellectual disabilities/special needs. He has experience as an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) coordinator for substance abuse and is skilled in multiple counseling techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectal behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI) to help clients and their families achieve their therapeutic goals.
Dan enjoys golf, spending time out in nature, baseball/football, exercise/working out, and cooking.
